Angel from Earth

A warming poem for anyone who has a loved one in their lives, who has experienced the loss of someone close, or who feels unsettled about this part of life.

If tonight I am whisked away

I know I will be ok

Lifted up by a mighty hand

To a world free and grand 

But please, don’t think that I won’t miss you

When, in truth, that’s the only issue 

For it was you who brought heaven to earth 

You made my world more than it’s worth

You were an angel sent for my guidance 

And whenever I’m lifted… that will be my chance

To be your true angel and make sure you’re safe

Much more than I could while just face to face

Physically gone, perhaps nothing to see

Behind the warmth and chills, know that it’s me

It will mean I’m there, and without a doubt

I will be doing my best to always reach out

To share my love and shield you from hurt

I’ll be your angel, in heaven from earth
