Reconnect

Reconnect

A Poem by David P. Eckert
"

the power of little children at the end of a long day

"

Reconnect

After fires are put to bed

And whirlwinds have slipped off shore

After every joule is sucked out

Like a taser vacuum

Linked with my brain

To drag coherent thought

Past the outer limits

Of my consciousness

I seek your hand to hold

Your joyful hug molding to me

Until you wiggle to be put down

But after I reconnect to Earth.
