Memory

Memory

A Poem by David P. Eckert
"

Memories come when they will.

"

Memory

As coffee scoops

tumble to white

paper filter

sitting in its

swing-out holder,

As the water

reservoir stands

open to the

water sprayer

until it  fills,

As the holder

clicks into place,

As the button’s

pressed and lights red,

As I hear it

drip, stream, smell the

coffee brewing,

Your memory

may  break surface

at any time.

Poetry rarely gets published... This piece needs work on structure. Published would mean to be more of a story in a magazine. Readers digest is a good start but there are many editors out there that are just plain engaged with people submitting new material. I would suggest that you get an agent. First timers always have a hard time getting their foot in the door.
