Reasons

Reasons

A Poem by David P. Eckert
"

What reasons does an adolescent need - and adoptee point of view?

"

Reasons

Reasons.

What reason could you have

Not to keep me close,

To let people

You could not know

Fly me away.

Yes you might say

“I had hopes for you,

A better life than mine”

And maybe

Your hope came true,

But I dearly miss

Someone I’ve never met,

A photo of someone young

Who gave up on me

Before she ever knew me

Out of her womb.

Sari... She will someday know and so will you. It will be just as hard on her as it is on her if you ever find the real mother. You took her, loved her and made her your own. You nailed her emotions... you are a good father. You must have listened.
