Continuum

An attempt at poetry.

 

The breaking year’s passage

To guess it was of grace

An actuality of nothing

Leaving behind but one small trace

 

Flittering days just pass away

Eventless readings take the way

Pointless factions carved in clay

Can’t find words enough to say

 

Continuation; the cleverly practiced snap

Broken is the gossamer I spent

Upon the speeding morrow’s lap

A crooked road no longer bent

 

Nimble fingers push aside each

Page whose interests are the pique

Of dominion on this pointless life

Trudging up and down the street

 

 

It all slips past these aching eyes

Silent is the clever guise

Only just collecting enough

This is my Continuum

 

 

Whose forever seeking mind is moot

Neither once, nor twice, but infinitely

And every waking moment recruit

The addition whose eyes do not see

 

For each cresting morrow

Dons another pair of denim

Just the same, the time to borrow

In that plain but stilted whim

 

And so it was that I felt pain

Though nothing less felt than the gain

Wrought by the mere inception of insanity

Ah, but to label the woes profane…

Every last grain

 

 

It all slips past these aching eyes

Only just collecting enough

This is my Continuum

 

 

Left-right but one strong shoulder

Swung aside a brusque demeanor

Only now balances the boulder

Illusion made now the clearer

This is me attempting to leak out my every affliction through poetry. Success? Who knows.
