In Dreams Of You

In Dreams Of You

A Poem by bryanie

How frozen my eyes are

As you are not here any longer

A quiet has settled now

All I hear is the wind and the waves

Mocking me in this supposed defeat

But what have you left?

Finally the snow has fallen

A comforting blanket

To cover the dead trees and their decay

Time was stolen from us

Every clock lies shattered on the ground

And what have you left?

I find you on my pillow

When stars watch silently above

Where I walk in dreams of you

Perhaps tonight will be the dream

That I do not return from

Where I do not wake up

Will you promise not to let go?

As you take my hand in yours

This is the only place where I feel you

And perhaps tonight will be the dream

Perhaps before dawn, before twilight

We shall be lost and unbroken
