Bipolar

Bipolar

A Poem by perfectlymetiKulous
"

A conversation between lovers

"

I love you but…
I’m scared.
Scared of who?
Scared of you.
Scared of your
Magical, fantastical eyes that throw me into
A blind vision of we.
In love with everything I can see
Everything I can’t see
From now until eternity.
Scared to death of you.
Scared to life of losing you.

I love you but…
I’m worried.
Worried about?
Worried that the lock that loves and
Jealously guards
Your heart
Like me, it stands strong,
No matter how hard I try.
I’m worried that you’ll lie, you’ll cheat,
And I’ll be oblivious me,
Loving you so much I haven’t noticed
That you’ve decided to leave.

I love you but…
I can’t.
Can’t what?
Can’t think of, even consider
Letting you back in.
You didn’t just break my heart,
You ruined me.
Blackened my soul
Desecrated my hope.
Yet those eyes like
Milk chocolate dreams
The curves of your body and soul
The road less traveled
I still want to put my name on that road
I want your name on mine.
I can’t stop wanting you.

That smile of
A thousand shining stars
Melt the thoughts from my mind
Punish me into submitting
To this love that I can not be rid of.

I love you but…
I won’t.
Won’t?
Won’t ever liberate the
Tranquility that breezes through
Tossing my tortured soul
Feeding the flashing blaze of
Crushing desire that I have for you.
You frustrate me so.
I want to watch you leave me,
Watch you walk away from me
(from us)
But I won’t.
I grab you and pull you back to me
Because you’re all I need.
You kill me only to revive me
Only to kill me again.
Wicked splendor
Tortuous beauty
Of your love for me
My love for you.
Unending days of erratic
Lows and highs.
Our bipolar love.
With you, I could never be bored.
I couldn’t imagine my life
without you in it.

That's one of the most beautiful things I have ever read and it makes me wonder if that is how my wife feels about me when I am going through one of my bipolar mixed episodes. There were several lines that grabbed me but

"I grab you and pull you back to me
Because you're all I need.
You kill me only to revive me
Only to kill me again.
Wicked splendor
Tortuous beauty
Of your love for me
My love for you.
Unending days of erratic
Lows and highs.
Our bipolar love."

Is the one that caught me the most, it reminds me of my relationship so much it's scary. Great read and great write

I know just exactly what you mean, love hate relationships can do just that to you.

Hiya
This is really good - love is scary for everyone and I think a lot of people will be able to relate to what you've written. I'd be interested to know how you were feeling, or what was going on in your life when you wrote this so I can understand your perspective.

The images you use are quite powerful, I like the bit about magical eyes, and tortuous beautyThat smile ofA thousand shining starsMelt the thoughts from my mindPunish me into submittingTo this love that I can not be rid of.

You really bring out a contradiction in the feelings - the real bipolar feeling.

Wow, I absolutely loved this poem.
"I love you but
I won't.
Won't?
Won't ever liberate the
Tranquility that breezes through
Tossing my tortured soul
Feeding the flashing blaze of
Crushing desire that I have for you." This was my favorite part! I absolutely love how your use of italics and the style of your progression of thought.

Wow....quite the ride. I am always fascinated by the womans perspective of a relationship versus the perspective of a man. I think many Women are like you, having these intense emotions, but very few know how to express them. You do it masterfully here. I love expression. I think it-- like confession-- cleanses the soul, and leaves it an empty vessel, yet deeper after each emptying to experience a deeper level of intensity in everything life has to offer, upon filling again. Didn't mean to get philosophical. I love the piece by the way.

Love it.

great poem. i understand it perfectly, even though i have never even had a girlfriend. that is a huge feat in itself, plus you have good flow and good format. i know that's a kind of weird thing to say, 'good format,' but it's true. the format you chose fits the poem well. did you write it like a song? the stanza that starts with "That smile of A thousand shining stars" is kind of like a bridge...i don't know, random ramblings.

Great!!!! I like this it was like a roller coaster up and down I get the

another while even though one did the other wrong is highly relatable,
you grabbed your readers. I almost died when you mentioned 'milk chocolate
dreams' girl dont go there!!!! I can't take it had me wanting some hersheys,
this is great. A great poem!!!

This so incredibly intense with to and fro desires and a million directions from which love is earned and thrown. The perfect description of love's complications and confusions. Just wow!

If ever there were a word synonymous with love......... Bipolar. That just about describes love(and women; oopps). You do it perfectly once again. I love you take on love and relationships because you come from an intelligent and open place when talking about it, so I'm always anxious to read your perspective.

"Won't ever liberate the
Tranquility that breezes through
Tossing my tortured soul
Feeding the flashing blaze of
Crushing desire that I have for you."

Very passionate and confusing and open. You do a great job at conveying the "Bipolarness" of the dreaded Love........
