Who it is I'm Talking To?

Who it is I'm Talking To?

A Poem by Donald Cole

So strong and yet so weak

To go through this all the time

Sometimes so hard to go on

When I'm going out of my mind

Sometimes I just try to feel

And not to run away

And then I come to realize

There's nothing for me to say

It just is what it is

Oh what you do to me

Where did all this come from

I wonder, can't you see?

Who is it I'm talking to?

The voices I can't hide

So strong on the outer shell

So much I feel inside

Sometimes I can't fathom

What I seem to put me through

But faith that there's a reason

For the little things I do

I don't have to understand

Not all of it anyway

I just have to know my heart

Will get me through the day

No matter what I feel inside

No matter what they see

Every little thing I feel

Is just a part of me.
