A Poem by Donald Cole
"

A tribute to my brother Alan, 3/10/1966-10/9/1983. Murdered by my 'best friend'. A tragedy

"

Today would be your day
I know, it's been a while
It's been 25 years now
Since I got to see your smile
So much you are a part of me
Even though you are gone
For years I'd toss my life away
Without you, I'd not go on
The 'friend' that stole your life from you
Still it seems so wrong
What reason there could ever be
And no more will I belong
Without you my brother
Without you, my dear friend
Time that heals all wounds
This pain would never mend
One day I will see you
For now, I'll never let you go
For the lessons in my life I've learned
There's some I will not know
Just to keep my faith today
And know that you are near to me
The past, never to be undone
The future still yet to be.
