Chasing the Son

Chasing the Son

A Poem by Donald Cole
"

A poem of my life

"

Walking down this path

I know Long since it has begun

To find the joy in this world of mine

Seems to be when I chase the sun

Ever since I was little

Life has gotten in my way

I've lived in my own world now

And just made it through each day

And I used to chased the rainbow

To try to realize my dream

Living in the human condition

Life, never was, what it may seem

I'm giving my life over now

A new life I'd dare, begun

I look into the sunsets of my world

I find myself chasing the Son

My only need to seek Him

That He may light my way

Though I always try to leave Him

I know He'll always stay

I never did belong here

I always tried to go

There was no escaping this world

So little did I know

Evening falling on my life now

My time is almost done

My only peace with the world

Comes from chasing the Son

For the world long since left me

Now in faith, I try to let it go

For to hold on to this feeling

I'll give all else that I know

And I'll be a better man now

For its my soul thats really won

For I've found the rainbow in my life

Found it by chasing the Son.

Thanks Jesus

always,

I really like this. Very deep, honest, revealing. The struggle to be near yet far away from Jesus is a common struggle among many people, even I deal with it day to day. i love how open this poem is. 9/10
