Only if You Let Me

Only if You Let Me

A Poem by Donald Cole
"

To be real, Lve is a two way emotion

"

Many nights I lie awake
And just wait for you here
I'm not so sure how I know
Yet it comes so very clear
Would you be just a dream to me
Could you be ever so real
For the world lies between us
Except for the feelings that I feel
You let me in to your world
Bring you in to mine, I tried
And how could I not recognize
These things I feel inside
So how am I to know you
What would you bring, in time
How do we make our worlds collide
To share what we may find
For what I feel, would reach to you
With nothing more in the way
My heart becoming reachable
As it is listening your way
And how am I to reach to you.
With all the rest of me
And just this love I would carry
Tis my one reality
And how,if I could only give you
All I could for a dream be true
For how would I live otherwise
Without holding on to you
Just only if you'll let me
Would we ever find a way
And only if I let you
Would we ever walk upon our day.
