Your Garden Within me

Your Garden Within me

A Poem by Donald Cole
"

a metaphor

"

I’m not sure how,
I know that I do
I’m sure there’s love
I know there is you
I think you found me
I opened my heart
I’m not really sure
When it did start
I know you grew
A garden in me
And now you make it
Beautiful I see
I look inside me
At what you’ve done
And I can only feel
What you’d begun
How to reach
But not reach too far?
For I know how hard
It’s been before
And how the distance
That lies between
We can bring together
What our fear has seen
What we would do now
I haven’t a clue
All I would know then
Is dreams can come true
