World's Apart

a beginning

I’m feeling us, worlds apart
And I hear us begin to share
So I step out of my world a bit
Just to see that you’ll be there
I wait for you each day
I only see you in my dream
And when I’m standing in the shadow of your world
Things might not be as they seem
I’m hoping you’ll reach to me
I’m looking for something I’ve never had before
This something I want to find in you
I’m looking to hold forever more
I'm lost for how we'll get there
But there's a picture of you and I
And every time I see you smile
I find another reason to try
And I notice the glow around you
So I want to know you more
Though life would try to pull me way from you
That’s just what life would have in store
Sometimes I feel you lost from me
For now we’ve only start, and only words to say
How do I find my place in your heart?
To keep you in my every day
And I wonder how I can reach to you
When I can’t feel you near
I only can listen with my eyes now
When the words are not so clear
I see your world is full now
And tends to get in my way
I’m left taken aback for what I can do
To bring our worlds together to stay
So I reach my hand to your world
And pray somehow to see
How I can know the dreams you hold
To make them part of me
Sometimes I feel just so alone
As with you, I start to share my heart
And I feel the distance that keeps you far from me
Not just the miles that would keep us apart
I wonder where you’ll take me
As I wonder what in you I’ll find
And I try to think what to do, so that I can have my life with you
And not leave my world behind
And I envision holding you in my arms one day
And think of what we’ll feel
I crave more and more of you beside me
Wanting so much, this love, become real
So tell me, what you want with me
For this is how I’d know
And show me how you’ll reach to me
To make our world grow
So many things I’ve lived for
To find that never were they true
I try and build a life, where love only grows
And this, I'd like to have with you.
