Crying in the Wind

Crying in the Wind

A Poem by Donald Cole

Ever since I was little

Since life for me did begin

I been listening to the whisper

Thats been blowing in the wind

I know I'm just a man now

And a dreamer in his right

I've been blessed so many ways

And they've been stolen in the night

I know God, You want all of me

And I'm not anything You need

I thank You for the blood You shed

That saved my soul indeed

God, I do know Your love

And I know how I have sinned

And the longer I've walked away from You

I hear You crying in the wind

I guess maybe I've always listened

Somewhere deep inside

I do feel, the pain so real

It's not something I could hide

You've given me a sense

To know what's right from wrong

And the conscience that connects me to this life

That's helped me all along

Lord my path is Yours now

And I know that I'll still sin

Still, help me to walk, with You by my side

Even crying in the wind.
