Beautiful to You

A longing

I look at You in my world

And a smile on my face

For the way I'll get to feel

When I feel You in this place

I'm just another man You know

With a little beauty in my heart

A beautiful wreck in its own right

For how I've come to fall apart

I'm looking for the beauty in my world

And I know it won't go far

Yet the beauty that I seek

Will carry so much more

For what it is I'm wanting

Has to be just right

Not the beauty that brings me through my day

but You beauty that carries me through the night

What it's coming down to

In my heart thats true

I don't want to be beautiful

Unless I'm beautiful to You

A human can look beautiful

In a way thats only skin deep

But to find a beauty inside out

Is the beauty that I wanna keep

Love is a gift of beauty

And its only given free

Not to be taken for granted

But treasured by You, by me

So I give to You my prayer's Lord

As You, my first love comes true

Lord, I don't just wanna be beautiful

I wanna be beautiful to You.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that beauty is what God gave us. We all have beauty some refuse to look and see it.
