Sweet Dreams, Darling

Sweet Dreams, Darling

A Poem by devon

His precious face

Was one she covered in kisses

Before bed.

His innocence

Was the most beautiful thing

She had ever known.

His chubby fingers

She always held tenderly

In her own.

His lumbering footsteps

Always followed

By his mother’s light ones.

His tousled hair,

So soft and light,

She never could quite comb.

His child tantrums

She loathed

Thrown on every car ride home.

Her little darling boy

She loved

With love that does not end.

His laughter once filled her home,

But now was left

Inside her memories, instead.

Very touching. I'm a mother of a boy and a girl. I assume he is separated by death. "His innocence" the most beautiful thing she had ever known? Hyperbole!

Thanks! And really? I write a good deal of mine from third person point to view.
Its very interesting. I'm guessing the poor thing was killed. :( Nice style of writing and it paints a cute up until the last paragraph.
