Her Heart Had A Great Fall

Her Heart Had A Great Fall

A Poem by devon

These arms are the work of masonry,

You said.

I’ll catch you if you fall,

You told me.

But empty words

And very empty promises

Were all I heard.

Because I had already taken the plunge,

And there is not a corner of my heart

That isn’t left splattered

Upon that brick, brick wall.

Short, simple, but too the point. (simple, but effective;) haha)
I like how you repeated the word "Brick", because it makes it seem definite. Like you fell hard, and there was no way you'd be spared. :)

You are :)
I dig the fairytale allusion with the title and the symbolism throughout the poem-- oh yea, and i also like the way you transitioned the symbolism of each stanza into the next. Nice work-- write on!
