This is a good start, but it's much too short. I do get what you're trying to do here, but I feel like this is a little too simple to do it - there's a bit of pathos in the last line, for sure, but it's almost a cliche in and of itself, which isn't a good thing. I think that you ought to expand this a bit more - at present, it looks like someone took the end of a longer poem and just placed it here without any explanation.

I fully intend to come back to this piece, but as of right now, I'm not ready to continue on with it. I just decided to post as is, so that I won't forget to come to it when I get some ideas rolling in.
