I Will Never Be A Super Hero As Long As You Wear Your Kryptonite On Your Sleeve

I Will Never Be A Super Hero As Long As You Wear Your Kryptonite On Your Sleeve

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Jaded eyes like kryptonite

Weaken my defenses,

Leaving my feelings

Vulnerable to destruction.

What makes me special

Does not make me Superman,

Besides, you are beyond saving

When you continually

Hide your heart

Beneath a shattered identity.

All I wanted to do

Was fly you to a world

Beyond the ruins,

But now I see

Through a concrete masquerade

That you are too proud

To let go of a world

That has long since

Blown up!

Thank you kind sir.
Cowboy, I like the open heart that I see in this poem. It's honest and hurt and willing to communicate. Some girls just need time to get over the past and take a chance on a future. Very nice write. I'm a complete sucker for Kryptonite and superman metaphors...so I love this one.

Why thank you, glad you could appreciate it.
sometimes people just need something to cling to. I am really taken by all the great lines here. You are a cowboy with a poet's heart. :)

sometimes people are just too shut down...and we can't reach them even with super powers of understanding and love.

You got that right, thank you sir
I love this version of your inner Superman, my friend... you are a new Clark, and the way "Kryptonite" was pronounced so funny ones, makes it rather serious here... for there is a great selfless message into this, that's rather not commercial, but full of wisdom, care, and love.

I think you have to check these:
"That you are *to proud" ---- Did you mean "too"?
"That has long *snce" --- since, or you can simply omit the word so that the lines could be-
"that has long
blown up!"
Anyway, those are minor typos only. I usually make same slips. LOL.

I could figure in here one who is trying to save someone but is likely to give up because the person seems STRONGER due to her reservations or misgivings which is then his weakness.

Nice metaphor. You always make your readers think, but I don't know if my interpretation makes sense. =)
Thanks for the share.
