Good to see you writing poetry again.. You so perfectly capture the nature of love.. of pain.. of finding the passage into the heart.. and of trying to find the best way to bring healing...
I think in line three you meant to write "too" if I am not mistaken.
I thought this was rich in meaning and depth. Every one of us has a past and some of us have it gruesome that it drags with us to our present. It is for us to let go of it, but it is also for our partners to accept us even with our baggage. Otherwise, even with the right key, we may not unlock ourselves fully for our present partner or the following one.
i love the reverse play on words at the end...the lock won't turn way too often...but if we judge broken hearts...we must be broken inside ourselves...
i really felt this one...and i have missed your words, my friend.
nicely done...did you mean "words too big"? that is how i read it.

Thank you very much Jacob... So glad you enjoyed it.
Ahh, going after a love that does not love you back is not so easy. Yet some are relentless in their quest. (their words too big)
Perhaps the lock has rusted? Or perhaps the pain has calcified its way in?
a great poem to come back with Cowboy!

Why thank you very much. I got the title from an episode of "Dexter"
