Final Performance(One Man Show)

Final Performance(One Man Show)

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Methodical madness is a bound

When lights, camera, action

Bring no emotional sound.

Acting without a stage

Is a crime to reality

And the reason to believe

In the magic of mirrors.

If life imitates art

Then your reflection

Should win an Oscar.

The script is written

For your death bed scene

Yet the curtain call

Remains in dress rehearsal.

Longing to have

Roses thrown at your feet

Yet not wanting to take that final bow

Knowing full well your requiem

Has already been composed

And applauded.

Life is but a backdrop to the stage we build for ourselves to stand on. The sun and moon spotlight our show, while the stars serve as a record for performances. Is the show fiction or a melodramatic event of historic value? One never truly knows. All we truly know is the play by which others see and judge us by. And even then we sometimes get caught up in our own farce. Remarkably Outstanding piece, Dale. Wonderful read that was enjoyed very much!

We are the main actor in our lives and life is the back drop to our life show. And we must act it out to the end. Very dramatic write here. Really like it.

This is such a beautiful theatrical piece. I could easily visualize a rock star performing on stage playing his guitar in front of a huge audience with lights flashing throughout his performance while beaming on him and his band mates. Awesome!!!

Wow.. this was full of one not ready to throw in the towel to a great dream.. yearning the fruits of having roses thrown at one's feet.. not finding an emotional connection.. but consumed by performing on stage. The want, need and obssession of being on stage.. the lines:

The script is written
For your death bed scene
Yet the curtain call
Remains in dress rehearsal.

A chilling few lines here that can mean so much .. the death of an artist.. or dreamer? Such a sad thing.. that one has already composed and been applauded.. yet does not want to let go.. I imagine it would be hard for one who has climbed to fall to the bottom.. and by nature one would want to climb to that peak again. Time for a new dream or goal possibly.. hopefully with some emotional support .. with love? I sure hope that if this is reality.. that new possibilities pop up that are even more uplifting and permanent.. love this for the reality that runs through it!
