you’re sorry (i love you)

you’re sorry (i love you)

A Poem by Dean

s away
as you whisper into (my)…
…his ear.

about your day. how you sigh
at the world when its
light seems to be hiding
behind a solar eclipse of
falling out of love +
believing in God.

you run your fingers through (my hair)…
…your phone. You tell (me you love me)…
…him you’re scared
of the future,
the way your heart speeds up as he slides closer to you,
that this is what falling out of love feels like,
that this is what falling in love again feels like.

tears slip down my cheeks. salt
in wounds. loss.
