Silence causes violence An innocent child laid twisted against the curb, another innocent victim
whos voice wasn't heard, her soul in heaven body in the street, mother was an
alcoholic father was a thief, nobody sensed the neglect not even the police,
people always talked but never offered her any help, the scars were so clear
with every blow her parents dealt, sent to school beaten but never broken,
Clothes were torn skin dirty her personality deplete, it wasn't safe to
be at home that's why she walked the streets, in the day your just a face at
night you become prey, in the bleak back alleys was where she would lay, every
morning was a blessing to awake with no abuse, public look and stare whilst not
knowing the inner truth, here we had a girl with a beautiful complexion and a
mind full of scars, when all she really wanted was a helping hand to change
paths, the inner system let her down our society is corrupt, her body was
bagged tagged and buried nobody gave a f**k!, what is the price of a young life
when it hasn't even lived?, instead of honouring the elderly we are burying
kids, rise up and take charge protect our youth from violence, the worst thing
we can do is just to remain silent, a mention in the local paper was all the
respect this girl got, headlines stating another adolescent has been shot, the
graphic description of the tragedy forced me to stop reading, I never even knew
her and already I’m grieving, I had to write this down juts to get it off
my chest, kelcie aged 14 may you finally be at rest. x © 2015 Dean TFeatured Review
