                                              Love Remains

   

It was 1998 when cupid fired his last arrow, 1 shot for 2 hearts his margins were narrow, a direct hit delivered saw a new chapter created, 2 strangers who became lovers for years they dated, she told him of her childhood it was one she hated, every memory she shared left him sick to his gut, how can people be so cruel even the ones we trust, left speechless and disgusted he just held her near, saying together we are stronger you have nothing to fear, 8 long years rolled by and they were both still happy, friends and family start pleading you 2 need to get married!, weeks went by and now things were set to change their lives, she told him of a secret that she could no longer keep inside, with a mind full of worry his heart starts to race, he didn't know what to think as she talked in haste, she told him not to panic as its the news they both wanted, she said were going to be parents our only wish has been granted, 2 beautiful baby boys who both arrived in full glory, everything seemed perfect until mum fell poorly, a complicated birth had taken it's toll on her heart, a new father with a fading lover who's life was falling apart, things happened so fast his body riddled with panic, a few last spoken words from his lover was all she could manage, please take our sons do what it takes to make me proud, give them everything as children that I was never allowed ..............
