a light in the darkness

once upon a time

there was a girl

she was lost and she was trapped

in this lonely crazy world

carrying the weight of all her struggles

praying to make them go away

and she said hey

i can make it

on my own.

i can carry out this life

i can do it all alone.

if i pull through a little longer

maybe then i'll be stronger

i can carry my burdens all alone

the days might

start looking better

but again they could be worse

they've been like the weather

cold and rainy; far from what we needed most

i'm just waiting for the sun

so now i'll just go on

i can make it

on my own

i can carry out this life

i can do it all alone

if i pull through a little longer

maybe then i'll be stronger

then a light

shown in the distance

i can see that i need a way around

and that my own persistence

has been what's dragging me down

i'll take a leap right off the ground.

because i can't make it

on my own.
