April's sorrow

April's sorrow

A Poem by Deborah Leah Krempa

Down on my knees, that's where you'll find me tonight

On my knees in prayer, tears streaming down my face

With empty arms reaching out unto the heaven's above

Needing answers to questions I dare not ask of the lord

On my knees in prayer, tears streaming down my face

Needing answers to questions I dare not ask of the lord

My son is dead and I'll never forget the day he died

You know? It's like a sword pierced through my heart

Knots in my stomach that won't go away

Needles and pins for nerves that are always tense

Everything happens for a reason they say

Explain to me the reason for this, lord

Some beautiful spring day he was killed by a drunk driver

It was April of last year

Needless to say

Praying doesn't come as easy as it should

Remembering the bad outweighing the good

Arms left empty still reaching out to the heaven's above

Yearning for God's love

Ever and ever, amen

Remembering my sorrow early in the spring, all over again...

I am so very sorry, Debileah. My mother too, died near this time, (In March) so I share the pain of your loss, though nothing compares to the loss of a son or daughter. May the Holy Spirit, the comforter, wrap His arms of warmth around you and blanket you with the comfort of all comfort. I pray He walk beside you in the days of grief and sorrow, bringing you through to a brighter tomorrow. If you should ever need to talk, don't hesitate to message me. I am here. He is truly the only one that can provide you with the comfort you need though...Again, I am sorry, Debileah!
