May The Angels Watch Over You (poem #1)

May the angels watch over you my friend throughout this trial

The times we've shared together I shall always treasure

Angels in heaven are shedding tears for you and so am I

Watch for a miracle, have faith and believe in the power of healing

Over and over again I shall pray for you my friend

You mean so very much to me and so much more to the lord

May the Angels Watch Over You (poem #2)

M ay the angels watch over you my friend

A sad day it was when I got the news

Y ou were diagnosed with lung cancer

T he thought of losing you hurts so deep

H eaven knows what a beautiful person you are

E ven as I write this poem tears fall upon the pages

A year ago when I lost my son you were right here by my side

N ow that is what true friendship is all about isn't it

G ood times we had so many growing up together didn't we

E verybody went their own way somehow we stayed friends

L ife can be wonderful and then it can throw you a curve ball

S ending my love and my prayers to you I hope you find comfort

W hat do I say to you, you've been more like a sister to me

A ll I can do is offer you my support if you need me just call me

T hinking about you tonight as I watch the cresent moon

C louds floating by just a few in the night sky

H eartbroken am I for you

O h how I remember the first time we met we were so young

V ery young and we had such wonderful dreams didn't we

E verybody was there and we danced and had so much fun

R ecalling the way we became best friends forever and always

Yvonne, you will always be my best and dearest friend

O kay sis? I love you and I always will love you and your children too

U ntil the stars fall from the sky...

This is beautiful, I think when one is faced with what your friend is facing, the best thing you can possibly be surrounded by is love, she is lucky to have that, to have you.

this is a very creative, touching tribute to your friend. we should consider ourselves lucky if we find a friendship like you've described. and if we are so privileged, we have to hang on to that, enjoy every minute while it lasts-good and bad. so when it's gone, cause like everything in this world, it will end someday, we always have those cherished memories to hang on to.
i recently lost a cousin to the damnable cancer. we were close when we were younger, but had not spent alot of time together in recent years. but i never got up the courage to say goodbye when the end was near, or even to tell him that i loved him. in fact, i never spoke to him from the time he fell ill to the time he died and i will never (and anyone else) for having the courage to stick it out and be there for your friend. it's not something everyone can do.
thank you for sharing this.

Illness is a hard pill to swallow. The best we can do is to be there to give comfort and understanding, never ever pitty.

Well written heartfelt and full of love and care. I'm sure your friend was touched, I was.

This reads like a tender letter and the acrostic is never forced with your writing! This is beyond sad and reminds us to treasure those we love while we can. We never know what the future brings. I can tell you put so much into this poem, it shows in every word.

What a beautiful tribute. I loved how you used the first letters to spell the prayer for your friend. Well written, tender and heartfelt. Peace to your troubled soul and that of your friends.
