Three Years AgoA Poem by deborahmorinits a poem HOORAYThree Years Ago Three years ago I had the heart to call you brother Though you never called me brother When we were younger We would play in the large open fields behind our home in the country You would play as the snake And I as the dragon You were smarter Taller, skinnier than me You kept nice habits You cleaned your room Did your homework Did what you were told You seemed happy Until three years ago You were jealous Angry I was not special Except for my dragon wings I got more attention More food More love You stayed in your room for long periods of time Studying You would come home with trophies and awards, but nobody cared They said your mind was greater than Einstein's You were quiet mostly Until three years ago You were elected leader I had just graduated High School You were a great leader Until three years ago You talked more to the world And a lot less to me Mom and Dad were proud for once Until three years ago You took them away Innocent people You showed no mercy Not even to your parents Or your own brother I loved you. Trusted you. Until three years ago. © 2017 deborahmorin |
