Change and Us

Everything was so simple when we were young...not so much when we grow up.

There was a time when everything seemed so simple

And everyone was friends with everyone,

And we were happy frolicking as children,

With not a care in the world.

But now, with times changing,

And everyone growing up,

I’ve realized certain things in life.

Many of them seem trivial,

But one thing that’s stuck in my head is this-

You can’t stop the ticking of the clock,

For time waits for no one and nothing.

You can’t stop the natural movements of life passing by you,

And you can’t stop certain forces, and things in nature,

Like friends moving away, people losing touch,

And everyone growing old and mature.

But, that change is always constant, and not necessarily your companion,

However, adapting to the world will be more difficult

If you don’t be yourself.

Bottom line is-

Change not for anyone, but yourself,

Else you’ll just make it harder for yourself.
