Paying for My Mistakes

Paying for My Mistakes

A Poem by JUSTWRITING
"

My mistakes wear me down and tear me apart. I need redemption...

"
I write this in earnest,
Hoping for a way around everything
And a way of redemption and forgiveness.
I hope that one day all will be forgiven,
And, hopefully, forgotten.

My mistakes are mine alone
And the burden I pay for them
Will always be a price-
A blow on my conscience.
Even when all is, hopefully, gained,
There will always be weight in my mind
For all the mistakes I've made.
I've learned that now,
And I'm still paying the price for them-
My mistakes.

But I know after what I've done
I can never be rectified,
And the weight of my problems
Will stamp me down,
Until I can recover, gain forgiveness, and move on.
Hence, for my own sake
I hope to learn from them.

It's time to move on.
