A Poem by John The Revelator

I wish I knew
If you’ve been washed by storms
Perhaps moved by the wind
Or what your watchful eyes where seeing

Have you given thought
To the touch of my hand
Or found yourself ashamed
Because like so many others
You have burned with the summer

When you finally speak
Will you teach me
Of ends and means

I will tell you
How through the long hot days
I’ve been waiting for the Fall

When asked
Are you a believer
Could you still believe me
If I said that I were not
Anymore
