Nam Vets

Inspired by Comments made by Sam Dickens and Sue Hart on my poem "Over The Crimson Sky" My generation of warrior came home heroes. Nam vets got spit on and called "baby burners." That was a travesty.

Vietnam veterans 

are owed an apology 

They were the scapegoats 

of failed foreign policy 

They're unsung heroes 

They should be given their due 

Vietnam veterans 

This veteran salutes you

BRAVO to you for writing this one, Baby! So many of my high school and college buddies went to Nam and came back as changed men. They were not hailed as heroes and they were never given what they deserved. They fought for our country in a war no one wanted to be in. Yes, this tribute is one they deserve. Lydi**
