McWages

McWages

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

Never let a clown do your payroll

"
I tried eating at McDonalds
That clown is just to weird
You shouldn't rip the workers off
where mammal flesh is seared
God knows what's going on back there
When no one else is looking
Perhaps they're frying donkey dicks
Is that what they've been cooking
I tooled on down to Burger King
Get some chicken nuggets
They told me we're on strike a*****e
Cross our line and suck it
We're reaping vengeance on the King
For keeping wages down
So we started urinating
Into the king's ground round
Taco Bell and Immigration
Illegal meat surprise
I'm pretty sure it's Burro balls
Inside those Nacho pies
I'm picking hooves out of my teeth
Digesting old horse shoe
Perchance I ate a Unicorn
I'm shitting rainbows too
Eating from a Colonel bucket
Pounds of feet and gizzard
Frying cats and collarbones
Witch's brew and Lizard
Paying peanuts gets you monkeys
slinging s**t with rage
Cut off the corporate payroll teat
raise the minimum wage

Author's Note

Baby Ricochet
By not paying their workers a living wage many corporations are welfare recipients because their employees have to rely on food stamps and government housing to survive. Coincidence? No, it isn't. It's the new America. The rich get richer and the rest of us can order from the dollar menu with our EBT card.

Fortunately, I don't go to ay of these places you mentioned. I guess I never will now.

Incidentally, I live below the poverty line myself, and I don't particularly feel sorry for welfair recipients. If they live on food stamps and in government housing, theyre living better than I am.

Thank you for your input Marie. I appreciate it
A great point Baby. The rich always gets richer while the poor gets poorer. These big organizations could care less about their employees. As long as their pockets get fatter.

You are welcome :)
I knew this one would be a searing review! I love the way you didn't just pick on McDonald's, but all of them in general. I guess the biggest difference here is the govt. raises the min. wage and we all have universal health, so it isn't quite as dramatic in Canada, but still it does raise my ire the huge salaries of CEOs.
one minor thing, you missed the extra O in too

Thanks. I'll fix it and thank you for your thoughts
yes, it is the new america...god, i just don't want to think about what goes on back there...

but what you write all makes perfect sense...and as the Temptations sang in "Ball of Confusion"

"And the band played on..."

strong piece, Mark.

Thank you Jacob
ell, you have certainly explained, rather eloquently, why I have stopped eating meat, and ANYTHING in a fast food place. I worked for years in a Dunkin' Donuts... believe me, you do NOT want to know what goes on in there... As for your message - spot on, as always, Mark. What a disgrace that these corporations keep getting richer on the sweat of the employees, but God forbid they pay a fair wage.
