A Poem by demureminds

I'm not the one to spend the rest of your life with

lovingly in tangled sheets

and wet kisses debris

on your lips

pink cheeks sweet,

moreover,

I'm more the one you will spend eons searching

for

and thinking I am perfect

for bringing home,

a lone secret longing to be exposed--

save me,

you'll think that's precisely

what I would want,

but,

I am made for exploration and lessons

to learn

and I am the one where the flame

burns out,

fizzing smoke halos

in the air,

tempest at the wake of night,

shake your senses

til you realize

I won't be good enough for you

much longer,

you'll see.
