'The peaceful atmosphere'

a poem that describes a peaceful atmosphere by the persona,and also employs the world to crave for such PEACE

‘The peaceful atmosphere’

 

The sea laid calm as the waves calmed down

The brightened moon smiled brightly so I came down

The tides were resting peacefully and I had a tide of euphoria

The awesome sight of the sea brought me to stand on a sandy area

Because I wanted to know who was responsible for its behavior

 

I wanted an answer but the sea laid down in silence

I heard the sound of the nocturnal chirping birds

But the creeping animals still laid in silence

Where is everyone? I wandered and wondered in loneliness!

 

Oh OK!  ‘Maybe they are sleeping peacefully’ I said doubtfully

‘Why has the world kept silent on me’? Maybe it’s meditating

There was no sound of footsteps and one could hear the sound

Of a pin drop into an ocean!

 

That was a great period of peace and tranquility!!

And like Jesus, I stood on the sea and shouted to the world;

Peace! Peace! Peace! Peace

 

From Atlanta to Amsterdam, From Accra to Athens

From Cairo to Copenhagen, From Iceland to Ireland

From Vietnam to Venezuela, From Malaysia to Malawi

And wished they could hear the sound of my voice

Nevertheless I say ‘Peace Be Still’ even to the outermost part of the world!!
