Poem 2. Autumn light.

 

The day was cool from our last days,

The walkways, cold and damp, they say,

The memory of, our autumn rain,

 It came to me, the days, they came.

 

We made our winnings by the rain,

The days they brought, the weeks they claimed.

At times, I thought for better rights,

Our thoughts were clearer, clearer nights.

 

It made me think of yesteryear,

Of all at stake, it all seemed clear.

The cleaner heart of all our takes.

The clearer hearts, that our heart makes.

 

We all thought clearer, on those days,

Those days stayed nearer, for all our ways,

Of that time that passed, we all seemed right,

Of those days they made, of autumn light.

You write beautifully each line composed with delicate precise choose of words which was a smooth ride in reading. To me we are all like unknown or in the case of the poem an unknown bird by W.S Merwin.
