In Tandem

In Tandem

A Poem by madison

I long for a time when

We get closer,

Nights get longer,

And we don’t mind spending them together.

I’ve often thought if we just opened up

If we all just for one night exposed each other to our raw self,

That person we’ve hidden behind all the layers and walls, hurt and scars, and years of battle.

We just might find a way to love each other. And maybe even ourselves a little better.

In my head I see it,

We stay up all night,

We talk, we laugh, we sing

We watch the stars turn into clouds and the moon the sun

And for the first time our eyes would be opened.

We would love each other.
