Honesty

I wrote this immediately after I heard a woman share about getting clean and her struggle with addiction. The hope and strength she spoke will never leave me.

I can’t explain it

And for once, I do not feel the need to

Any attempt would be unjust

Rather, I just bask in it’s intensity

An earnest surrender

As it permeates every cell like the bitter bite of arctic winds

Shivering with purity

It cannot be explained

But if you were there, you felt it too.
