Traveling Companion

Traveling Companion

A Poem by Didier de Villiers
"

This poem is about the human desire to try and possess or control the people that come into their lives.

"
We are united in direction
If not in purpose
So let's travel together awhile
And be warmed by companionship

Don't try to mould me
And worship false idols
For that, I promise you
I won't change your ways

When the time comes to part
No matter how painful
Let us do so amicably
And with human dignity

Stop holding on so tight
Let go of these feelings
For we never owned them
Not even at the start
