Watch The World Die

Watch The World Die

A Poem by Dima
"

After a long time watching a very dear friend being treated poorly by her significant other, and after calling it quits time and time again,I wrote this to convey a message, one of support, that she doesn't have to keep going back to a bad situation, and

"

The echo as the tears roll down

Your cheeks remind me of the sound

Of metal twisting deep inside

A car crash, and now I decide

That I refuse to stand aside, lips tight

While you cry yourself to sleep at night

My arms around you build the walls

To keep you safe from harm

So dry your eyes

No need to cry

We’ll stand our ground

And watch the world die

We’ll wave goodbye

To pain we hide

You’re all I need

So lets get up and find a better day

So call this my attempt to serve

The fairy-tale that you deserve

For far too long I’ve sat, observed

And shut my mouth while you’re in pain

So let me sweep you off your feet

And give you all the love you need

I promise I would gladly bleed

So see you smile again

So dry your eyes

No need to cry

We’ll stand our ground

And watch the world die

We’ll wave goodbye

To pain we hide

You’re all I need

So lets get up and find a better day

And it kills me

To hear you cry so hard

You slur your words

Because I know how bad he hurts you

And the worst part

Is to see you going back for more

So dry your eyes

No need to cry

We’ll stand our ground

And watch the world die
