a very short poem about a friend who left me

Betrayal

You left without a single word 

locked years of memories behind closed doors 

you taught me how to dance and cry

but now you teach me how to say goodbye 

No warning signs were displayed for me

there was nothing for miles that I could see

I thought you were my companion for life

but instead you were the one grasping the knife

Quiet personal to you! Well... I do understand such feelings when someone says "goodbyes" but doing this, they teach us a very important chapter of life & help us, indirectly, to ..not to fall into the same ditch again. Nice flow of ink!

who can not relate ... the road to Love is littered with debris of all kinds ... the tragedy of it not lost along the way ... but it does exist ... we learn what commitment and honesty means ... what beneficence and nonmaleficence are ... we learn to love ourselves as well ... hope always remains ... even in the most hurtful of hours ... it glimmers there off in the distance .. ;)

Wow. I think everybody has had friends that just up and walk out of your life. Actually, to be quite honest, I don't talk to my friends from high school. I have had one who I grew up with and I thought he was a good friend, until high school came and he became a total jerk. Anyway, awesome write

So sad. Betrayal is so hard to deal with when it is foreign to the one being betrayed. I find it somewhat reassuring to discover people in my life capable of betrayal because I then know to keep them at arms length and to feel sorry for them because they are incredibly flawed. Hauntingly beautiful poem.
