Tell me

Tell me

A Poem by Gerhardus Retief

I have been needing for you to tell me to go home.
Saturate in light instead of dark rise up from my grave.
To stop haunting your memories of missing me.
I can never go home if your not there to wait for me.
Wish you could feel me, abduct me, corrupt me once again.

Please tell me that you don't love me anymore.
I have been dead both inside and outside for so long.
Stop giving my spirit hope to embrace the signals.
I'm frozen inside the fire of your eyes.
Thaw my sins from me so that I can be released.

Tell me like you speak to the wind as if I am there.
Stop asking where I am it brings me to the edge every time.
There is something less than this not more than that.
Steal me into the triumph of belonging.

Please tell me you can stand it from now on.
Stop showering your face with the downhill tears.
Like opening a locked door that is not meant to be open.
Foolish my ghost steps inside the expected trap.
I cannot leave you so stubborn I will die like that.

Please tell me its not starting over.
That there is a end to this creative beginning.
You know I cannot stand up for you like puppet.
Just bury me already with your last thoughts once.
Twice for lasting happy memories and tell my grave its over.
