Dimmer

Dimmer

A Poem by Dug
"

Another Song

"

The sunlight in Autumn gets dimmer
As the summer starts to fade
The flowers get cold and they wither
And I start to decay

The look in your eyes has grown darker
As that spark is now cold
The time we're both together and alone
Is making me feel old

Someone tell me why
The good things in life pass me by
Someone tell me how
To scream without making sound

Everything nice has now left me
And all that's good is a sham
All the things that I hold on to
Fall through my hands like sand

Someone tell me why
The good things in life pass me by
Someone tell me how
To scream without making sound

And I think we see too much
I've been down this road so many times
I know it by touch

The callousness inside us has grown stronger
And our words don't mean a thing
Our defenses that keep hurt outside
Keep the good from getting in

Someone tell me why
The good things in life pass me by
Someone tell me how
To scream without making sound

It's dark in it's own little way. I like how it shows through even when it may seem so light at first.

About
A lot of what's on here are song lyrics (plus a few random short stories when my imagination wanders). I write music, but I've been trying to focus on the lyrical side of things. Words and music when.. more..
