Oblivion

Oblivion

A Poem by Donald
"

This piece deals with the chaos of life. Sooner or later some of us lose their way and have to be guided back to reality.

"
Constantly falling, without any sign of stopping.
Seeing things flash by out of the corner of your eye.
Never sure what is real and what is illusion.
Doubting one’s senses of  the truth.
Feeling lost and all alone.
The world drops away from your feet.
You keep tumbling out of control,
 like a rag doll.
In the back of your mind,
one thought keeps cropping up.
This is not real,
it is an illusion.
Don’t believe what you see,
and trust your heart to know what is real.
A hand reaches out to you and pulls to safety,
You look into her eyes and see the truth.
You are lying on a floor,
in a puddle of sweat.
You wonder how you got there and then you remember.
You were trying to escape reality.
But reality wouldn’t let you leave.
For an instant,
you were between the two,
not sure which way to fall.
You are out of control,
screaming at the top of your voice for help.
Someone heard you plea for help and came.
They found you here and extended their hand to pull you up.
This was a taste of oblivion,
A dark place between Heaven and Hell,
for those caught in the middle,
like you.
You see the kindness and gentleness in her eyes.
This is a person you can trust and perhaps even love.
She sees the compassion in your eyes and the indecision there too.
She smiles and gently kisses you.
Then she starts to walk away.
But before she reaches the door,
she turns around and extends her hand to you.
Uncertain, you walk toward and gently grasp her hand.
She guides you out of the darkness and into the sunlight of the open sky

Nice work! I can tell that your writing is a lot like mine. You had a great statement behind this. Its cool to try, especially in this format, to only capitalize words with greater significance. Not just capitalizing them because its the start of a new sentence. I don't know, just something that I do in my writing that you might like! Keep it up!
