Unknown Expectations

Unknown Expectations

A Poem by D. Mansfield

A warm, sticky evening, huge glowing moon.
Warm summer breeze, blowing the curtains
making ashes in the tray flutter around.
Cigarette glowing so red, it brightens your face, like a casino sign in the desert. This is summer, warm muggy evenings filled with unknown expectations.
Hurling toward life changing conclusions.,  Deluged by all these outside influences,
Grasping at these moments of simple friendship.
Doubt is the enemy, time pulling us apart.
Seems almost random, drawing it's conclusions.
