The Underdog, everytime!

The Underdog, everytime!

A Poem by D. Mansfield
"

I'm for the underdog every single time, We are misfits, addicts, drunks, and challenged. We are fighters, because we had to. We all remember the day, the pot boiled over and we unleashed.

"
To be naked,
To be hated,
Outcast and alone.

To be taunted,
And Ridiculed,
Yes, I get stoned.

To be scared,
To be.Lonely,
Belittled, and scorned.

To be full of self doubt,
Have no purpose,
To be sad and forlorn.

To be unloved,
Depressed and tired
To be uneasy.

To be fearful and sad
Until your stomach feels queazy.

You felt these things,
all of your years.
Never had time to stop,
and have tears.

i realted to every line in this work. i've always been different, and always 'felt' different, not sure why. Never had time to stop and have tears, though. it's been one mess after another with little breathing room and probably im partly responsible. but i have no need to cry. i take comfort in solitude, and occasionally reading a poem. this one was good. it gave me strength.

I'm so sorry, nobody should be feeling this way.
I have stopped now. And yes memories of all of this during a lifetime of trying to fit in.
Now if I don't, it matters not to me.
Being naked, hated and alone is fine if that is how it is.
My stomach is still a bit queezy for sure.
