Set on fire.

Set on fire.

A Poem by D. Mansfield
"

Love stinks! Love hurts, get over it , pick yourself up, and fake it the rest of your life.

"
So long ago now, all of a sudden,
as my friends will say, I've gotten old.
But the times we had, were the elixir life promises,
as over and over I'm told.

Your fresh tanned face, would light any room
Mine it set on fire.
The room was burning all around me, with your closeness and my desire.

When it ended, gone as quickly as you arrived,
At first I was sure I wouldn't survive.
Pain like that, only a fool would chance,
to ever love again.
So I have tiptoed thru life, avoiding those feelings, never letting love begin.
