"

Story about an office worker remembering past freedom!

"

Computer lighting is the cause of his pallid face,
the artificial air holds no clues to the beauty outdoors,
he is only but a number in this 21st century race,
what stands between him and freedom are four walls and a door.

The hum of the office hypnotically carries him to his past,
days filled with freedom, sun, surf and adventure,
he smiles as images from the deep recesses of his mind are cast,
places where he no longer has time to venture.

He feels the warmth of the summer sun on his skin,
he starts to feel the heavy weight on his shoulders rise,
the memories of summer generate a large grin,
youth, sand and surf mixed with beautiful blue skies.

The ringing phone brings him crashing to the present,
he now feels trapped in a life not of his choosing,
life has sadly become something to resent,
his life has evolved into a game he feels he is losing.
