Black Women

Black Women

A Poem by The DJ
"

My Reason as to Why Black Women are how they are.... (written when I was alot younger)

"

Our hearts cold due to the pain in our life,

It's no wonder we get pissed when you be trying to bring new strife.

Father's gone; brothers passed, little girls pregnant by age sixteen,

And everyday you steady wondering why we are sometimes mean?

Try standing in our shoes as we are hurt by yet another man,

Yea, that's right you can't even walk in our shoes, let alone stand.

Try to raise a son and two daughters with no help, all alone,

When their broke behind father won't even call them on the phone.

Yea, sometimes we are a little cold and angry towards the new people that we meet,

But that's only because we know that they too, could hurt us in a week.

Okay, I guess were sorry for all the men in the clubs we just don't give a chance,

But do you really think all our problems can be forgotten in just a single dance?

We wish we were strong enough to smile everyday,

But we're too busy smiling to our kids so our problems won't be given away.

So for all those who think that black women are nothing but hate and spite,

I hope you now realize it just too hard to be perfectly happy each night.
