Faith of Fools

Faith of Fools

A Poem by donny ingraham
"

Sunday I've seen someone get punched because of being gay. It had me to write this because the the guy that hit him was coming out of church.

"

Born for a purpose

one that has yet to be seen

running from change

Who can tell me

who is right

who is wrong

Stories of life in bliss

but none have yet to reveal

Living life as those in the east

people around me cast stones

and as their teacher

I forgive them

knowing ignorance still grips their hearts

Truth remains to be something seen

we cling to old things

there purpose lies beyond the sea

none have yet to journey and return

Holding against someone a choice they have made

calling them cursed

Who are you to judge

declaring yourself lord

punishing another

but your life is worst than the ones you punish

Where is the love

in the midst of hatred

where is forgiveness

when my judges are my persecutors

Walk with me and see

love have yet to hate another

or th kill in it's name

If I lain down my life,

for ignorance what would it prove?

...
. extremely skillfully and sensitively written ...
. it's so ironical that even in 2011 this can happen ...
. freedom is still not freely exercised by one and all ...
